Chip Pettit

Head Football Coach  Chip Pettit enters his tenth season at the helm of the Bulldogs in 2010. Coach Pettit is a graduate (1992) of Crown Point High School, Valparaiso University (B.S.), and Indiana University (M.S.). After graduating from college, he returned to Crown Point and taught Social Studies at Taft Middle School. In addition, he coached football, basketball, and baseball at Crown Point High School. Coach Pettit then left Crown Point to teach Social Studies and serve as the first Head Football Coach in the history of Wheeler High School.

 In 2006, the Bulldogs set a school-record for wins (12) while completing back-to-back undefeated regular seasons and Duneland Conference Championships, the Bulldogs again won a share of the Duneland title in 2007. The Dogs won their first Sectional Championship in 15 years (2006). Coach Pettit was named the 5A Coach of the Year in 2002 & 2005. He served as the Region 1 Director for the Indiana Football Coaches Association in 2004. Coach Pettit coached the North squad in the IFCA All-Star game in July of 2007. He is currently teaching US History at Crown Point High School, where he is also the Dean of Students. Coach Pettit and his wife, Karin, reside in Crown Point with their son, Will (8) and daughter, Avery (6).

Coach McCormack enters his eighth season as the Head Coach of the tradition-rich Hobart Brickies in 2010. McCormack graduated from Portage High School in 1987 and received a degree in Social Studies from Purdue. After spending 9 years as both the offensive and defensive coordinators at Chesterton High School, Coach McCormack was named the Head Football Coach at Andrean High School in 2002. In his first season as a Head Coach, McCormack led the 59ers to a 14-1 record and a State Runner-Up finish. After a year at Andrean, McCormack was hired to be the head coach at Hobart High School. In 7 years at Hobart, the Brickies have won 3 conference titles while going undefeated in two of those seasons. Coach McCormack has advanced to at least the Sectional Championship game in 6 of his 8 seasons as a head coach. Coach McCormack and his wife Jenny live in Portage with their daughter Riley Kate (5) and son Brady Quinn (3).

Coach Snyder has been coaching for 22 years. He started his career as an Assistant Coach at Iowa Wesleyan College in 1987. He then moved to Valparaiso University where he served on the staff as an Assistant Coach working with WR’s and RB’s. In his final season in 1991 he served as the Offensive Coordinator of the Crusaders. He then went to Valparaiso High School for 3 years as an assistant. Paoli High School for 1 year as the Head Coach. Coach Snyder has been at Chesterton for the past 13 years. Coach Snyder's Trojans won the Duneland Conference Championship in 2008 for only the 2nd time in the schools history.  Coach Snyder resides in the Duneland School district with his wife Barb and three children, A.J. (15), Shelby (13) and Cole (6).

Coach Buzea became the Head Football Coach at Portage High School in 1994, after serving as the schools offensive coordinator. In his first season as head coach, Coach Buzea led the Indians to the State Championship Game. In 2006, Buzea earned win number 100, making him the third fastest coach in Indiana history to do so.  In 2007, Buzea left Portage to become the Head Football Coach at Michigan City High School.  Coach Buzea graduated from Griffith High School where he starred for legendary coach Les Thornton. After graduation Coach “Buzz” continued his stellar athletic career at Lakeland College were he graduated with a degree in Physical Education. Coach Buzea is the Dean of Students at Michigan City High School in addition to his football duties as Head Coach. Coach Buzea lives in Hobart.
